April and September 2016
SiaS is a festival installation piece, using sound, lighting, theatre with three actors and art to explore some of Shakespeare’s most iconic speeches, his legacy and death. This 15-minute immersive piece looked to break down the barriers to both Shakespeare and conventional theatre by setting the performance in a common garden shed, which then transformed into an atmospheric space once inside.
Shakespeare in a Shed was performed on the 23rd of April 2016, as part of Art8 Festival’s 2016 Shedload of Shakespeare event on the Killacourt in Newquay, and was performed again in September 2016 at the Newquay Fish Festival over 2 days of the event. Blystra Arts have been commissioned several times to create work for festivals and events.
