Empowering Newquay’s Future

4th April, 2025

Empowering Newquay’s Future is a partnership project between Newquay Town Council, Newquay Orchard, Newquay BID, Young People Cornwall, The Careers Hub, Newquay Tretherras, Treviglas Academy, Blystra Arts and Groundswell CIC, which is about inspiring young people in Newquay to find out about job opportunities and inspiring future pathways in the town and finding ways to engage with local employment opportunities. The first Empowering Newquay’s Future event takes place on the 16th of May 2025 at Newquay Orchard and is designed to inspire and connect young people and the wider community with local businesses, career opportunities, and future pathways.

Unlike traditional careers fairs, Empowering Newquay’s Future is more about presenting inspiring future opportunities to the young people in the town and providing a space where young people can chat with local businesses about local future career pathways, ensuring that young people in Newquay find ways to stay in the community, rather than having to leave the town to find suitable employment. Attendees will experience a truly engaging event where businesses and self-employed individuals will:

  • Showcase their workplaces and industries through interactive activities.
  • Highlight their culture, values, and benefits as employers of choice.
  • Inspire the next generation by sharing career stories and hands-on opportunities.

Empowering Newquay’s Future is about empowering the future of Newquay and strengthening the connection between local businesses and the community.
