Since 2019 Blystra Arts have been involved in the Newquay Zombie Crawl running creative workshops across the town as part of the event. Our famous Gruesome Wound Making Workshop has been there from the start, but since 2022 Blystra have been involved in the event to an even greater level, as part of the management committee, working with Newquay BID, Hotchpotch Performance, Bounce Dance Academy, Cornwall Theatre School, 4Motion, the Newquay Lions and Pirates Quest to run and manage the event.
Blystra Arts run their wound workshop each year and supply the face painters for the event, using Little Rainbow Facepainting, as well as supporting with the audio for the parade in 2022 and 2023. Over the last few years the company have run other creative activity at the event, such as the pumpkin carving sessions, and in 2024, they added value to the parade itself by decorating the truck for the event and contributing a giant willow sculpture dragon to the parade, raising the artistic quality of the event, and enhancing the back of the parade, with a high quality piece of art for Newquay crowds to enjoy.
Blystra Arts continue to be involved in the crawl, and are looking at several ways to enhance the crawl event further in 2025. If you’re a business and you’re interested in supporting us to make something spectacular for the 2026 crawl, then please do get in touch with us at info@blystraarts.org to discuss options on how you can be involved.
